I like every experience to be memorable. So if we go for steak I want it to be the best steak you have ever had in your life. If we go for Italian then I want authentic if it can be found.
A nice dinner in a quiet space is the best way to get acquainted. A walk on the beach or a park to chat would be ideal. Sex on the first dates is a downer for a budding relationship.
